Today we arose about 7:45 a.m. Taylor was at her dads so Kirsten was not
upstairs early. I texted Maren and told
her Happy Anniversary
.
We had called repairmen to fix the refrigerator and the
furnace/air conditioner. The
Refrigerator has been leaking water.
Larry has tried to fix it three different times. The valve to the ice maker line is broken but
he finally called someone to fix it. He
says that he called Kearsley but a person from Famous Appliance came. The line for the ice maker was not long
enough so it was broken when someone pulled it out to clean behind the
refrigerator. I was shocked that the
part cost $287.00 and then the line was another $70.00. It was Three hundred and eighty seven dollars
to fix it and it seemed like an easy fix.
The furnace/ air conditioner wasn’t quite so expensive. Larry was worried that it was not cooling so
he showed him how to set the thermometer so it was okay and then he cleaned the
furnace and tuned it up and it was only $49.00
We had a hard time getting going. But at 9:00 a.m. we decided that we better be
dressed and ready for the repairmen.
Maren called and was upset that they had scheduled her to work early and
she couldn’t find a babysitter but Kirsten had already volunteered to go tend
her kids so she would have an excuse to be away when Jon was getting remarried
to his new girlfriend.
After lunch we decided to go to the temple early for
today. We had a good session.
Then we went to various businesses that have deli’s and
priced what it would cost to get meat and cheese trays for Sunday. We got so hungry that about 5:00 p.m. we
stopped at McDonald’s to get something to eat.
We were impressed with their computerized kiosk that would let you make
your own burger until Larry figured out that it cost $10.00 for his custom
hamburger.
We came home and watched Castle for an hour and then that is
when Taylor came home.
Kirsten got ready and had a whole day worth of plans for
today with different friends. She was
just trying to shield herself from the hurt of Jon getting married so soon
after the divorce. She also went up
today to help Maren out of a bind with her kids this afternoon. Taylor came home a little while ago from the
wedding and was pretty bummed about the day and the wedding it seemed and when
Kirsten was not here she was disappointed and did not want anyone else. She did not make a scene or anything she is
just moping around and kept telling me she wants her mommy when I offer to do
something for her.
We are reading scriptures in James this week and
particularly the part about how it is important to bridle our tongues. I remember that John used to tell me that I
wasn’t very religious because I got so angry with him. At the time I dismissed it as the fact that I
deserved to be angry with him but after I got so angry with Nathan this year
and the Spirit told me that I needed to repent and that even if someone did
make me feel angry I needed to control my anger. It is
interesting that I had to live so long before I realized that when it says in
the scriptures that I needed to bridle my tongue that it did mean me.
