Larry and I are going to a couple of doctor appointments
today. He is going to the VA for an eye
appointment. I am going to the
dermatologist to see if he can rescue my skin from the problems I developed in
San Antonio. Because we only have one
car we are going together so I decided to write while he drives.
David working with their other dog Roxie to bury Hercules |
Sara texted this morning that their dog Hercules had died so
that was a sad beginning to the morning.
They have had him for at least 14 years because they got him before
David was born.
I haven’t written about the week since Tuesday. If you remember I was not feeling very
well. I just couldn’t get feeling better
and finally on Thursday I called the pharmacist and ask him if the Terebenidine
that they had prescribed for my toe nail fungus blocked my taramadol because I
couldn’t quit hurting and even after I quit taking the Balance that thrive has
for digestion I was having anxiety attacks that were keeping me up at
night. He looked it up and said, “You
nailed it.” So I immediately quit taking it and I have gradually got feeling
better. But yesterday was the first day
that I felt good again.
Cameron Jenkins my nephew and my brother Craig Jenkins singing in the Priesthood choir for conference in the left corner |
My nephew Landon Jenkins singing in the choir also. Middle front row |
Saturday Larry
and I just watched conference all day and lay around except for fixing
meals. It felt good to rest. Larry got dressed but I stayed in my pajamas
all day.
After getting home today we looked at the Bank Website and it said
that we did not have enough money to pay our bills and we had just got $500.00
and put in so it would not be overdraft today.
I was confused because it looked like we had a significant amount
missing. I went over the account two
ways to balance it and could find only one mistake. I had put in an amount for $17.54 for $17.64. But a ten cent mistake could not make the
difference. Larry and I went down to the
bank and they only had a teller that could help but she could not help us
either. She printed out the register
there and recommended that we take it home and reconcile it with a new check
register. So we did. When we finished it said that we had $1070.74
but the bank said that we only had $570.74.
We had that we should have 370.22 after everything was subtracted. Then I saw it. The difference in what the bank said we had
and what we had was because the bank was not authorizing the $500.00 check
until it cleared. When I subtracted the
outstanding checks from the banks amount it came to $370.22. It took about 2-3 hours to figure it out but
at least we know now.
Kirsten and Taylor went to a friends about 2:00 p.m. We worked on the check book until about 3:30 p.m. Then we went to a meeting about the bond
election in the district and learned a little about what the UEA is trying to
do in the legislature. We all got home
about 6:00 p.m. and Kirsten had fixed dinner in the crock pot so she finished
that up and we all ate.
We had a short family home evening about the Book of Mormon
story of Nephi and the brass plates.
Taylor showed us all her beanie babies that she has now. Kennedy bought her two more today and a vinyl
figure of Rapunzel and her gecko so she was having fun with them. Then she figured out as we were eating treat
that we hadn’t played a game so she wanted to play poly pocket. Kirsten wanted her to get her homework done so
I told her if she got her homework done before bedtime I would play polypocket
with her. Larry and I had barely got
into the scripture study we are doing and she was up ready to play the
game. She waited for us to get finished
by getting ready for bed and then I played the game with her and Kirsten
also. Although she told Kirsten that
there were no more players needed because she insisted that each of her new
beanie babies Austin and Artic play. She
finally let Kirsten help Artic and she helped Austin. It was pretty funny. And so we could have a good night Taylor
won. Fair and square.
